Mumbai, Feb 24: “Smt Susheela Shetty memorial poetry award” was conferred to Anita Poojary Takode the winner in the poetry compilation competition during the annual programme organized by Jagajyoti Kalavrinda on last Sunday at the Thakur Auditorium, Dombivili (E).
The poetry award was conferred in the presence of the guests: Dr. Vani Ucchilkar-senior writer and teacher, Karunakara B Shetty, Prabhakar L Shetty, Satish Alagura, Vasant Suvarna, Sanat Kumar Jain, Santhosh Shetty, Ashish Sitaram Shetty and Shekhar Shetty.
Anita Poojary is from Takode of Moodbidri, Dakshina Kannada District. She has been writing stories, poems, articles, travelogues in all major newspapers of Karnataka and Mumbai. Her first poetry collection “Kayuttaa Kavite” has been published. She has been honored with many awards. ‘Premakavya Puraskara’ in memory of KS in 2011 in Mysore, ‘Kaviratna Puraskara” from Navachintana Association in 2012 in Mumbai, “National Award winner Late Kemmannu Gopalkrishna Rao Memorial Award” from Kalajagattu (R) in 2013, “Tulusiri Puraskara” from Tulukuta Dombivili, prize in Jayadevi Tayi Ligade poetry competition, prize for the travelogue from G D Joshi Pratishtana, first prize in the love letter competition held by Prajavani to name a few. Her poems and stories have been aired in Mumbai and Mangaluru Akashvani.
She has recited her Tulu Kannada poetries in the concerts at Dakshina Kannada Jilla Sahitya Sammelana, Dr. SL Bhairappa avara shatamanada shatanamana, Kannada Development Authority Bangaluru, Navachintana Organization Delhi, Anubhava Sahitya Sammelana, All India conference of outside Karnataka Kannada Sangha, multi language concert of Navachintana, Pune Kannada Sangha, and in most of the Tulu Kannada concerts in Mumbai. Her poems contain these themes-searching for humanity, interest in the contemporary life, love and trust to protect relationships and cordialness.
