Mumbai, Sept.12: Monti Fest was solemnized at the Good Shepherd Church, Andheri (W) on Sunday, September 11, 2016.

Festivities began with children showering flowers and venerating infant Mary. This was followed by a Konkani Mass concelebrated by Fr. Hubert Goveas and Parish priest Fr. Jerome Lobo. Novem was blessed during Mass. The mass was complimented by traditional Konkani hymns sung by the Konkani choir.

In the celebrations held later, Novem mixed in milk was served to everyone. Cultural events included Konkani songs, children’s dance, a comedy skit and spot prizes. There was also a raffle draw and the lucky winner walked away with the bumper prize.

Everyone enjoyed the fellowship meal (Novem Jevonn), a traditional Mangalorean vegetarian lunch served with vorn (kheer). Novem and laddoo were distributed to everyone after lunch.

It was truly a memorable day for everyone who was part of the program. We thank Mother Mary for all the graces bestowed on us and on our parish.
