Maiden Executive Committee for Newfound ‘Karnataka NRI Forum – Bahrain’

Manama, Bahrain: The nomination for the maiden executive committee of the newly founded ‘Karnataka NRI Forum – Bahrain’, which is formed with the noble objective of responding to the issues and welfare of the non-resident Kannadigas [NRKs] residing in this gulf island country for their livelihood, was held recently. The proactive representatives belonging to various castes and creeds from the local NRK community, who have a concern for the society, were selected as the new office bearers.

Earlier, the international award winning social worker and successful youth organizer Leeladhar Baikampady was officially designated as the head of the proposed Executive Committee of the Bahrain Forum by the Karnataka NRI Forum - Bangalore, an initiative of Karnataka Government. Accordingly, the appointment of local Kannadigas for the Bahrain Forum’s maiden Executive Committee was done by Leeladhar Baikampady himself. All those appointees thus chosen are;

Shetty (General Secretary), Leeladhar Baikampady (Chairman) and Social Welfare Coordinators Vincent Sequeira and Vittal Jamaluddin. Standing (from L to R): Social Welfare Coordinators - Jagdish Achar, Ganesh Manila, R. M. Patil, Surendra Udyavar, Nithin Shetty, Stany D'Souza and Ummer Saheb.

The forum, under the aegis of Karnataka NRI Forum - Bangalore, will offer its services in Bahrain, according to the 'NRI Policy of Karnataka’ under the leadership of dynamic social frontrunner Leeladhar Baikampady.

This secular styled organization will unite all the Kannadigas, who at present are scattered into 16 various Pro-Kannada and other Community Organizations as well as those who are still unorganized under one umbrella and work relentlessly for their betterment and also help them to get the benefits of the schemes meant for the non-residents which is made available by the Karnataka NRI Forum - Bangalore.

In addition, this Forum will be recognized as the august & apex organization which will be like a parent body for all the non-resident Kannadigas [NRKs] of Bahrain and offers services to the whole NRKs as per the guidelines, directives and provisions of the Karnataka NRI Forum - Bangalore.

As Chairman Leeladhar Baikampady illustrates in his press release, “This forum, which will be a guide to the lives of NRKs residing in Bahrain, has already planned for a mega cultural fest titled 'Kannada Dindima' on 12th October 2018 at The Indian Club Auditorium in order to introduce the newfound Forum as well as its maiden executive committee to all the non-resident Kannadiga community of Bahrain, in addition to giving comprehensive information of various benefit schemes of Karnataka State Government, which are available at present for the NRKs. This unique event will also promote land - language, art - literature, culture - heritage of the motherland Karnataka”.
