Meenakshi (Rajendra Shinde) Poojary elected as Mayor of Thane

Mumbai, Mar. 06: Meenakshi (Rajendra Shinde) Poojary, D/o Late Guruva Kantappa Poojary the resident of Enagudde, Katpady has been elected as the Mayor of Thane on Monday. She was a candidate from Shivsena Party and had contested in the Thane Municipality Election from Manpada, Manorama Nagar 3C ward and won consecutively for the third time.

The election was held for all 131 seats of Thane Municipal Corporation. Shivsena won 67 seats, NCP 34, BJP 23, Congress (I) 03, independent 04 seats. This time five parties contested from this ward, they were BJP, Congress (I), NCP, MNS and others. Meenakshi had a clear victory in the election and had submitted her candidature for the Mayor seat on March 2nd. Now, the election Commission has announced her as the Mayor of Thane City.

Jaya C Suvarna the president of Rashtirya Billawa Maha Mandala and executive president of Bharat Bank, Nityanand D Kotian the president of Billawa Association Mumbai, all office bearers, the joint executive president of the Bank Advocate Rohini Salian, the director Vasudeva R Kotian, Rohit M Suvarna, L V Meen, Laxmana Poojary, Tonse Sanjeeva Poojary and other dignitaries congratulated Meenakshi Poojary for her achievement.
