Mumbai, March 19: The “Sauhardothsava-Janapada Siri Vaibhava-2016” programme was held under the joint association of Karnataka Janapada Parishath of Maharashtra unit and Mulund Friends Association, at Dr H L Nage Gauda centenary stage - Dr.M Vishveshvarayya Auditorium of Karnataka Sangha Mumbai-at Matunga (W).

The programme was held in the presidentship of Pradeep Kumar Kalkura-the south Canara District president of Kannada Sahithya Parishath. Shri Ganesh Ullody Swamiji- the trusty of Koraga Thaniya Sannidhi of Badiyadka Kasaragod, Janab S Y M Masud Phajudar-the president of Minority Development Authority. Rev. Fr. Nelson Saldana-the chief of the Ghatkopar Panth Nagar Church- were present during the occasion. The religious leaders inaugurated the function, blessed and gave the message for a peaceful life.As a symbol of peace and harmony,pigeons were released to fly.

The social workers Karnire Vishwanatha Shetty, Advocate B Mohiyuddin Mundkur, Dr Surendra V Shetty Kalyan, Rangappa C Gauda, industrialist Sunil Pais, The CEO of the Janapada Parishath Dr Kuruve Basavaraj, president of the Kerala Unit-Keshava Prasad Nanihithlu were present. Dr Shiva M Moodigere (in the field of social), Pramod Karkera Adve (in the field of industry) Dr Muneer Bawa (in the field of politics), Narayana Mate Kasaragod (in the field of culture), Kum.B S Faziya and K A Sameera from AIMS college Kadabawere honored with theSauhardothsava award. The guests gave their messages for the occasion and called for leading a happy life by realizing the value of harmony.

A Seminar on “Basic beliefs and superstitions” was held under the presidentship of Dr Nithyananda B Shetty-The head of the Kannada department, Thumkur university. The internationally famedtheoretician-President of All India union of rationalists-Dr Narendra Nayak- presented his ideas on the subject of superstitions. Journalist Chandrashekar Palethady and writer Ravi R Anchan expressed their views, Dayasagar Chauta conducted the seminar.

Tara Bangera sang the prayer, the president of Karnataka Janapada Parishath-Suresh Shetty Yeyyady welcomed and honored the president. The treasurer of Mulund Friends-Venugopala Shetty Ira, joint secretary Yuvaraj Shetty, joint-treasurer Navin Hegde honored the guests by offering the bouquets. Mohan Rai conducted the Folk dance competition. Ashok Pakkala compered the stage function of the Sauhardhothsava. The secretary of the Mulund Friends Dayanand Devadiga proposed the vote of thanks.
