TULUNAADU IS THE BEST PLACE IN THE UNIVERSE TO LIVE: DR. VIRENDRA HEGDE

Dubai (Al Nasser), Nov 23: ‘Vishwa Tulu Sammelana Dubai 2018’ was organized in Leisureland Ice rink indoor stadium, Al Nasser, Dubai, UAE on Friday. This program was held by Tulu community with the collaboration of Tulu Saahitya Academy and All India Tulu Federation. This program was inaugurated by Cultural ambassador of India, Dharmadikari of Shri Kshetra Dharmastala & Padmabhushana Rajashri- Dr. Virendra Hegde by lighting the Lamp and he expressed his views on this occasion.

Sheik Mubarak Al Nahyan- the tolerance minister of UAE, Dubai was present as the Chief guest on this occasion and he expressed his views saying that “Tuluvas are the role model for tolerance and unity”.

This program was held under the presidency of Sarvotham Shetty Abudhabi- the Chief Convener of Tulu Sammelana, and Dr. B.R Shetty- the founder and Chairman of NMC group. Very. Rev. Fr. Peter Paul Saldanha- the bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Mangalore, Ebinezer Jathana- the bishop of Protestant Diocese of Mangalore, Very Rev Fr. Dr. Henry D’Souza- the Bishop of Roman Catholic Diocese of Bellary, Abdussalam Puthige- the Musilm theologian, U. T Khader- the minister for Urban development and housing, Dr. Jayamala- the Minister for Women and Child Development and Empowerment and the former chief minister of Karnataka- M. Veerappa Moily, the chairman of Alvas education trust Moodubidri- Mohan Alva, Umanath Kotian- the MLA of Moodubidri Legislative Assembly, Ronald Colaso and Sujath Shetty- the Indian entrepreneurs, the President of Basava Samithi- Basava Jathi, Chandrakala B. R Shetty, the music director- Guru Kiran and the President of Karnataka Tulu academy- A. C Bhandary, the President of All India Tulu Federation- Dharmapal U. Devadiga were all present on the dais.

The guests were escorted to the dais after hoisting the flag in front of Nashvan Stadium. Rani Abbakka, Abbaga Daraga, Koti Chennayya, Reverend Kittal, Agoli Manjanna, Dr. Kayyara Kinjanna Rai were all remembered during the occasion. The Chief convener of Tulu Sammelana- Sarvotham Shetty Abudhabi welcomed the gathering. Bhaskar Rai Kukkuvalli and Priya Harish Shetty compered the program. B. R Shetty offered bouquets and memento to the guests and honoured them. The head of Overseas Tuluva association Dubai- Shodhan Prasad proposed vote of thanks.

As the part of cultural event, around 6 teams of gulf nations presented group folk dance. Chakrapani Nruthya Kendra headed by Suresh Attavara Mangalore presented ‘Tulunada Parbolu’ dance form, Yakshamithra Dubai Mandali presented ‘Jambavathi Kalyana’ yakshagaana, Pilinalike (Tiger dance) directed by Girish Narayan, Bale thelipale team & Umesh Mijar team presented comedy show, Satish Shetty Patla and team presented ‘Yakshagana Natya Vaibhava’ and Yakshagana Hasya Vaibhava’ and Versatiles Dubai team led by Pramod Kumar presented Rasa Manjari. Kadri Navneeth Shetty and Sahil Rai compered the cultural events.

The Honourable Secretary of Akhila Bharata Tulu Okkuta- Nitte Shashidar Shetty, the senior writer- Dr. Suneetha M. Shetty, the owner of Canara pinto travels- Sunil Pais Puttur, Dr. M. J Praveen Bhat Sion, Tonse Vijayakumar Shetty, Praveen Shetty Vakwadi, Sudhir Kumar Shetty, Sheela Sudhir Kumar, Chandrashekara R. Belchada, Karnuru Mohan Rai, Narayana Kapu (Dubai), Ajekar Balakrishna Shetty and other dignitaries were present on this occasion. Hundreds of Tuluvas from Tulu Sangha Baroda, Tulukoota Ankaleshwara attended the program.

Traditional attire: Tulunadu foods

The people present there were welcomed traditionally. The traditional flavors (foods) of Tulunadu were distributed by women volunteers to the dignitaries present on this occasion. The flavorful foods in Tulunadu style were prepared under the guidance of Devesh Alva Dubai and they were mouth watering.

Juber Khan Mangalore and team organized exhibition of Tulunadu heritage and attracted people present on this occasion. The enormous crowd of Tuluvas in Dubai made one to think that whether Tulunadu is in Dubai or Dubai is in Tulunadu. However, the Tuluvas of Dubai showed that Dubai is very close to Tulunadu.
