LEAF -Scholarship Program for normal Children of Visually Impaired parents held on Sunday 26th June 2016, successfully in it's 9th year - Today one boy studying in Degree to be a Doctor.....

LEAF is Scholarship Program for normal Children of Visually Impaired parents. These children are in worst scenario as they have to not only take care of themselves but also their parents. They are totally deprived of their childhood. Many are employed at young age as the parents don't have regular income. LEAF scholarship is awarded to these children with only condition that they enroll at school(staying across Maharashtra ranging from Dombivli(Blind colony), Vasai to Navi Mumbai to panvel, on Sunday they come with their blind parents for this event.

The success : (1)135 children (2)Today one boy studying Degree to be Doctor (3) two boys and one girl in Engineering (4)one boy doing ICWA - Cost Accountancy (5) Almost 45 students in College (6) Every year about 8-10 Graduates (7) First year only one around 60 % marks. Today, we have around 30 students every year scoring more than 75 % marks. (8) Within next Five year we will have 100 Graduates.

The Sponsorship of one School Student is Rs.3,500/- and that for the one College Student is Rs.4,000/-. and Rs.1,000/- for Merit students, plus financial aid in special case, as it was given to student who is doing MBBS Degree. Every year more than Rs 6 lacs disbursed as Education Aid in LEAF Event.

Blind parents and even some students gave their response towards this event, one student stating that once she completes her degree, gets a job, she would like to sponsor a student of Blind Parents. The Enthrallment of the Event was a Magic show by Ln Arun Mande who kept everybody in completely aghast including students. One of the oldest donor was Ln Dhirubhai Mehta, who brought Lionism to India, who was in advisory committee in Prime Minister's Office for (philately) issuing STAMPS in India.
