“Let’s nurture the nature, before it’s too late!”

Mumbai, July 16: Environment is everything around us that determines the life on the Earth. Environment day was celebrated on 16th July, 2022 (Saturday) at St. Xavier’s High School, Borivali (East). ‘Each One Plant One’ with this motto of our Chairman Sir Dr. A.F. Pinto one among the 12 Point Vision (Environment), a week long (11th July, 2022 to 15th July, 2022) celebration was held in the school with activities such as; essay writing, elocution, paper bag making, debate, quiz competition, slogan writing, poem writing, puzzle solving, drawing a butterfly, colouring the frog. Students from Nursery to Std. X participated enthusiastically in the activities.

The Environment Day celebration comprised of - Lord’s Prayer, Bible reading, School prayer, Special prayer, Welcome speech, Welcome song, Felicitation of the guests, Speech and Poem recitation on saving the environment, Skit to protect the environment from Carbon emission, Choir singing (Plant a Tree), dress up activity, felicitation of the winners of the activities, Vote of thanks, Closing chorus, School Anthem. Students from pre-primary, primary and secondary section took part in the programme with great enthusiasm and zeal. Pastor Adrian Lopes opened the ceremony with his special prayer towards protecting the environment. The guests who graced the occasion were: Pastor Adrian Lopes (Fountain of Life Fellowship Service), Mr. Rushabh Shah (Alumni, Photo Journalist, Wildlife rescuer, Influencer), Mr. Upendra Pandit (Editor of Mumbai Amardeep Times). The guests were given a sapling as a token of appreciation. The guests expressed their strong opinion on protecting Mother Nature and planting trees.

The guests were escorted by the Environment Minister of the school to plant a sapling, and beautify the garden. The guest appreciated the effort of the Management and the school in inculcating values for Saving the Environment in young minds.
