St. Xavier’s High School, Borivali (E) Republic Day Celebration

Republic Day was celebrated with splendor and gaiety at St. Xavier’s High School, Borivali (E) on 26th January 2018. This celebration was based on the spirit of patriotism and was witnessed by several guests. The faces of each and everyone present for the celebration glowed with the feelings of patriotism and National pride.

The programme began with the hoisting of the flag and the singing of the National Anthem. There were squads of all the houses, R.S.P, J.R.C and the Main Squad for March Past, as well as special band was displayed. The programme began with the Lord’s Prayer followed by the reading of the verses from the Bible, and Special Prayer. The guests were welcomed with the speeches and the welcome dance by the birdies [children] dancing to the musical beats. The felicitation of the guests was done by the Council members and Respected Head Mistress Ms. Mariette Fernandes. The young learners exhibited their energy and vigour by performing Aerobics and Dumbel display. There were patriotic speeches too. An emotional skit based on the great leaders who sacrificed their lives for the Nation and Respect to Womanhood was enacted by our young- Xavierites. The skit touched the hearts and emotions of each and everyone.

Dr. Nikhil Gholkar - Obstetrician and Gynaecologist . Consultant in Foetal Medicine and High risk pregnancy. Currently working as Consultant at Hiranandani hospital and Wockhardt Hospital in Mumbai.
Mr. John Mathew – Mercy John Memorial Old age Home & Medical Care Centre
Mr. Hiten Parekh - BSC graduate from Univertsity of Mumbai. Working as Head of Everest Industries Ltd. – Solar Business. Part of India's largest Roofing & Building Company Everest Industries Limited.
Ms. Aishwarya Pandey (Alumni 2009-2010) - B.E., I.T.
Pastor Adrian Lopes - Pastor

The students were felicitated by the guests who excelled in their various events. In the speeches given by the guests, they congratulated and appreciated our Respected Chairman Sir Dr. A. F. Pinto and Managing Director Madam Grace Pinto, Head Mistress, Supervisors, Teachers for bringing up the children in very unique and crystallized manner, thereby preparing them to be the worthy citizens of tomorrow. They also appreciated the efforts of each and every student who participated with great enthusiasm and spread the message of Patriotism.

The tree plantation ceremony which was a pledge for Green and Clean India was done in the school. Chocolates were distributed to the children on the occasion of Republic Day.

The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks, Closing Chorus, School Anthem & National Song.
