Management Guru joins Ahmedabad University

Bengaluru, September 18: Professor Devanath Tirupati, one of India’s leading management academicians known for his expertise in Operations Management, has joined Ahmedabad University’s Amrut Mody School of Management (AMSoM) as its Dean.

Professor Tirupati most recently held the positions of Dean (Academics), Acting Director, and Airbus Chair Professor of Sourcing and Supply Management at IIM Bangalore. Prior to that, he was associated with IIM Ahmedabad as Professor and with Melbourne Business School Australia as Visiting Professor.

He also held the position of Associate Professor at the University of Texas at Austin where he received the Presidential Young Investigator Award from NSF. At IIMA, he was the Chairman, Admissions Committee; Chairman, Centre for Innovation, Incubation & Entrepreneurship; Member Vikalpa; Member, Faculty Development & Evaluation Committee; and Chairman of the Doctoral Program.

Before joining academics, he had worked with the Planning Commission, Department of Atomic Energy and the private sector. He is a member of INFORMS, Operations Research Society of India, Production and Operations Management Society, and Society of Operations Management. Professor Tirupati has an exhaustive list of publications in refereed journals both in India and abroad.
