Thumbay Hospital New Life – Hyderabad, part of the Thumbay Hospital network owned and operated by the Healthcare Division of Thumbay Group UAE, organized an ‘Organ Donation Awareness Campaign’ at the hospital on Saturday, 13th August 2016.

The program was organized as part of the nationwide‘Organ Donation Day’, with the aim of spreading awareness about organ donation and associated topics. The highlight of the event was an informative presentation on organ donation by Dr. G. Swarnalatha, in-charge and organ transplantation coordinator of Telengana State. The presentation touched upon the basic aspects of organ donation, the importance and need for it, the procedure etc.

Around 200 people, including prospective recipients and their attendants attended the program. Attendees also learned about the ‘green corridor’ with regard to organ transplant as well as the other important issues related to transplantation, such as the need for the organ to reach the transplant center safely, the low shelf-life of the organ etc.
