Published On : 21 May 2015

Kuwait City, May 21 (IANS): China's military delegation made here on Wednesday its presentation to bid for the 2019 Military World Games, a media report said on Thursday.

In his presentation report, Ma Kaiping, head of the Chinese military delegation, said China is one of world's most ancient civilizations, and the fastest growing economy, Xinhua reported.

He also said China's mega city of Wuhan, central Hubei province, is capable of making the military games a success as China has a rich experience in holding major global sports events, such as the 2008 Olympic Games, and 2011 Universiade, and the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games.

The Chinese government and its military have a strong support for the development of world's military sports, said Ma, adding that Wuhan city has the first-class sports venues.

The Military World Games is a multi-sport event organised every four years by the International Military Sports Council, and the first summer games was held in 1995 in Rome, Italy.
