Rio de Janeiro, Oct 15: Novak Djokovic says he will make the Rio 2016 tennis tournament a priority next year as he strives for an elusive Olympic gold medal.
"Everybody is looking forward to being part of the Olympic Games, and I'm not an exception," the 28-year-old Serb told Rio2016.com on Wednesday, reported Xinhua.
"I really would love to be part of the Olympic Serbian team. That's definitely one of the highlights and one of the priorities of the next season - to try to get a medal for my country. I'm going to do everything I possibly can to achieve that."
The World No. 1 took bronze at the Beijing 2008 Games and missed out on a podium finish in London four years later.
The 10-time grand slam winner joins Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer as leading men's players to commit to next year's Olympics.
