Tamilnadu Team Wins Bangalore Women's Open Tournament

Bengaluru: Sports Development Authority of Tamilnadu 'A' beat their junior counterparts in the finals of the All India Women's Open Football Tournament held on Aug.20 (sat) at the Central College grounds. Both the teams overcame a spirited challenge from St. Joseph's School, Bajpe, Mangalore in the semi finals.

There were 5 teams from Tamilnadu, 2 from Kerala and other teams from Mangalore and Bangalore. The tournament was organised by Denz Foundation, Bangalore. Winners were given a glittering trophy with a cash prize of Rs.20000 while the runners up got a trophy and Rs.10000 apart from medals.

Former India player, Ms. Rani gave away the trophies at the end of the finals.
