Mumbai, Feb.06: GSB Scholarship League is over 100 years old organization Its one and the only aim is to financially support the poor and needy students from Small villages. Our beneficiaries are mostly, children of labourers, Tailors, hotel workers, coolies, Riksha drivers. Small Temple archaks, Road side tea vendors, farmers etc. whose children are intelligent, but cannot afford the education.
GSB Scholarship League has taken the responsibility of supporting over 2,000 school going students. And another 2,000 students of all the category, till their graduation level. As the education expenses are growing the parents are finding harder to meet the student’s expenses, and the League is finding difficult to support meritorious children in a bigger way as the Bank rates have drastically come down.
One question which the League’s Managing Committee has been debating for a long time, is: should we reduce the number of supporting students and give more money to some children or give smaller amount to all needy students.
A generous donor. Mr.Ajit Prabhu, of Prabhu Charitable Trust from Singapore had the same ideals of supporting the education of the needy and poor as GSB Scholarship League has been doing. He has now been supporting the League in a big way by fully supporting the education of merit students, but cannot afford educational expenses.
Mr.Prabhu has expressed his desire to meet such students, interact with them and motivate them to become successful in life ofwhich he himself is an example.
Hence this program of MEET THE DONOR of GSB Scholarship League Mumbai will be take place in Mangalore on the 18th February,2018 at Bhuvanendra Hall of Canara High School, Mangalore.
