Mangaluru: A 26-year-old man was arrested by Venur police for alleged sexual assault on his 16-year-old relative.
The arrest followed a compliant by the girl on Sunday.
The girl said that her distant relative forced her to have sexual intercourse with him some time ago. On Saturday, she went to a hospital for medical check-up where the doctor told her that she was three months pregnant.
The Venur police arrested the 26-year-old man for the offence under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and under the provisions of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
