Mangaluru: A woman from Shaktinagar in the city fell from the terrace of her residence on Saturday and breathed her last. Elizabeth Veigas (65) is the person deceased.
She was harvesting betel leaves from the terrace of her house near cashew factory in Shaktinagar when she met gory death. She used to pluck betel leaves grown by her and sell the same at the weekly market. Due to the fall, she suffered injury in her hand and complained to her family members about abdominal pain.
She was taken to a private hospital in the city by her daughter. After a CT scan was conducted at the hospital, she complained of chest pain and passed away soon thereafter.
