Udupi: A woman who was trying to jump into Udyavar river on Saturday, was rescued by local people and volunteers of women's helpline. The woman reportedly was claiming the river to be her residence.
The woman has since been admitted into the district government hospital. During her interaction, she claimed herself to be Nagamma and gave her daughter's name as Laxmi. As she has been giving confusing replies about her native place, her relatives could not be contacted.
Well-known social activist, Vishu Shetty, accompanied by women's helpline, arranged to admit the woman in the district hospital.
