Mangaluru: Alva’s Education Foundation will be holding its 9th edition of "Alva’s Pragati’’, the annual mass placement drive on June 24 and 25 at Vidyagiri Campus in Moodabidri. The drive expects participation from 200 companies, 15000 job aspirants from within the state as well adjoining states like Kerala, Tamil Nadu Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The main objective of this job fair is to facilitate job opportunties throughout India with special emphasis on the rural people and underprivileged in the country.
In 2016, 309 companies, 18000 job aspirants had participated in the drive. A total of 1209 aspirants were given on the spot job offers; 5525 students were shortlisted for various profiles in prestigious companies, he added.
Pragati caters to the needs of deserving employment seekers among graduates and post graduates in various streams such as Medical and Paramedical, Engineering, Commerce and Management, Basic Sciences and Nursing. It is also a platform for the ITI and Diploma holders and skilled manpower with PUC and SSLC qualifications.
There is no spot registration (except SSLC and ITI), instead the aspirants should apply online. Alvas Foundation has made full fledged arrangements like accommodation and logistics facilities, computers, exam halls, availability of 800 rooms to conduct recruitment process for the job aspirants.The entire process will digitised, he added.
There is a data bank setup gathered through Alva’s Pragati online enrolment. The information would be extended throughout the year to cater to on and off campus drives. The drive has become a bigger brand when it comes to job fairs; has abilities to attract premium companies. Aspirants would get wide range of opportunities under one roof. About 80 percent of the companies would give final offer during the drive. Android and iOS based Apps have been created to benefit both the aspirants and the participating companies. Capping the numbers of companies per participants has been done to avoid multiple offers.
