Mangaluru (TOI): Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel urged the government to order CBI probe if there is a scam behind Yettinahole project.
He told reporters here on Tuesday that the government has been implementing Yettinahole project in a hurried manner without taking into account the sentiments of people in Dakshina Kannada district. "Government should order CID or CBI probe, whichever is appropriate, if there is a scam behind the implementation of Yettinahole project. BJP government has not implemented the project. It has only initiated a survey. Do not play with the sentiments of people," Kateel said.
"Let seven people's representatives of the Congress from Dakshina Kannada unite against the project. We will extend our support to them. BJP state president Prahlad Joshi has already spoke against the project," Kateel said.
It may be recalled that former Union minister and veteran Congress leader B Janardhana Poojary had also urged a CBI probe into the alleged misappropriation in Yettinahole project.
