Former PM Deve Gowda visits religious places

Kundapur: Former Prime Minister of India, H D Deve Gowda, accompanied by wife, Chennamma, visited Goddess Mookambila temple at Kollur, Goddess Brahmi Durgaparameshwari temple at Kamalashile in the taluk, and Dharmasthala Lord Manjunatheshwara temple on Monday February 20 and performed special puja there.

Speaking to media persons at Kollur, Deev Gowda said " I wanted to invoke the blessings of gods on the occasion of the feat being undertaken to strengthen the organizational structure of the party and opening of its new office at Bengaluru. I will soon visit New Delhi to invite Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, to the inaugural function of Hassan-Bengaluru railway line that has been completed now. ".

On his arrival at Kamalashile temple, hereditary managing trustee of the temple, S Sachchidananda Chatra, trustees, Baregundi Srinivs Chatra and A Chandrashekhar Shetty Hennabail, received him. JD(S) leader, B T Manjunath Poojary Siddapur, several JD(S) workers, priest of the temple, manager of the temple, Guru Bhat, and others were present.

At Dharmasthala, after paying obeisance to the Lord, Deve Gowda met Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari, Dr D Veerendra Heggade, and held talk with him. JD(S) leaders, Yogeesh Shetty, K Vasudeva Rao, Sudhakar Shetty Hejamady, Shekhar Kotian, K N Srikanth Adiga, and others were present.
