Udupi: The gold and silver items which were found in the base Shiroor Math premises near Hiriadka were brought to the Math's premises in the town on Wednesday and kept in the strong room there.
Police officials of Hiriadka and Brahmavar stations scrutinized individual items and compared them with the list in the presence of Sri Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiji of Sode Math, which is in-charge of Shiroor Math for the time being. The items were then brought from Shiroor to here and they were kept in the strong room of Shiroor Math here. The items of daily use, as demanded by the staff of the Math, were handed over to them.
After the unexpected passing away of Shiroor Sri Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji on July 19, all the items belonging to Shiroor Math continued to be in the Math premises at Shiroor. Both the Math premises were under police supervision.
