Puttur: In a tragic incident, a 37-year-old goldsmith, Raghav Acharya (37), committed suicide on Wednesday. He was resident of Nandila near Haradi within the limits of the town police station.
Acharya was alone at his home at the time. His wife was away attending a wedding function, while the children had been to school. Acharya hanged himself from the roof beams of his house.
The deceased was involved with carving gold jewellery on court road here. A case of unnatural death stands filed in this connection in the town police station. The reason for death is not known. Police are investigating.
