Udupi: Former MLA Gopal Bhandary has made it in the first list thereby disappointing Uday Kumar Shetty who was one of the key aspirants from Karkala assembly constitiuency.
Interestingly, former CM and former union Minister Veerappa Moily who had initially sought a ticket for his son Harsha Moily from this constituency had later backtracked and had reportedly backed Uday Kumar Shetty. But the Congress leadership has even turned down that request and has ultimately chosen Gopal Bhandary.
Supporters of Uday Kumar Shetty felt that Moily is behind an dhave blamed him for their leader not getting ticket. It is also being said that Uday Kumar Shetty may contest as rebel candidate against Congress.
