Bantwal: Thieves broke into a house near the Kodaje mosque at Maani and have decamped with cash worth several thousands of rupees on Friday night.
The theft occurred in the house owned by Ismail and rented out to a person named Sulaiman. The thieves had entered the house by breaking the rods of the window in the rear of the house. Sulaiman’s family was away to a relative’s house when the theft took place.
The family had saved some Rs 45000 to undertake Haj tour. The thieves had ransacked the cupboards in the house.
Bantwal Police are investigating the case.
