Published On : 01 Nov 2014

Mangaluru (TNN): State leadership of Janata Dal (Secular) is all set to launch its move to reorganise rank and file of the party in Karnataka from this coastal city on November 5. National president of the party H D Deve Gowda and former CM H D Kumaraswamy will address party leaders and workers at a function to be held at Shanti Nilaya, Balmatta here in a bid to rebuild JD(S) in D K district, B Mahammed Kunhi, president of district unit of JD(S) said.

Addressing reporters, Kunhi said JD(S) has been watching the political developments in the state and country as a whole keenly and is all set to get in to an agitation mode to highlight what he termed are serious administrative lapses on part of the state and central governments. The November 5 meet will give a definitive shape to the proposed mass agitation that the party leadership is planning to highlight the various lapses, Kunhi asserted.

Noting that administration has totally collapsed in the state, Kunhi said constant interference by four ministers who hail from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts has left officials confused as to whose orders they need to follow. Failure to appoint a full time commissioner for Mangalore City Corporation due to individual clashes between ministers B Ramanath Rai and Vinay Kumar Sorake is a clear example of where the administration is headed.

State government has failed to address power shortage, and had not been able to handle issues pertaining to distribution of ration cards. Noting that there is just one Aadhar registration centre at MCCs commercial complex at Lalbagh; he said this is not sufficient to meet the rush of people who come there for their Aadhar cards. He also demanded roll back in bus fares charged by KSRTC and private operators in view of drop in price of diesel.
