Kumar Bangarappa says BJP supports backward classes and minorities

Kundapur: Kumar Bangarappa said that mant parties have been trying to project BJP as a party that is opposed to backward classes, but BJP has been strongly supportive of backward classes and minorities.

"The party has identified many leaders from backward classes and minorities like Abdul Kalam and Ram Nath Kovind and given them the highest positions in the country. Therefore, minorities and backward classes will support BJP in the coming election and bring BJP back to power in the state," said former minister, Kumar Bangarappa.

He was speaking after inaugurating celebrations connected with 163rd birth anniversary of Brahmasri Narayanaguru at a function organized at Annappayya hall, Trasi. The programme was organized under the aegis of Byndore Mandal BJP backward classes Morcha on Sunday October 8.

Kota Srinvias Poojary, who was the chief guest of the function, said that Narayana Guru never confined himself to a specific caste, religion or party. President of Byndoor BJP backward classes Morcha, Ganesh Poojary Kenchanuru, presided. Udupi district BJP president, Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde, BJP state executive member, B M Sukumar Shetty, former MLA, K Laxminarayana, backward classes Morcha state vice president, Kiran Kumar etc addressed the gathering.
