Kundapur: A married couple from Sringeri committed suicide in a lodge at Kundapur. The couple was found dead on Sunday. The deceased are Gurumurthy (43) from Sringeri and Sharada (30).
Gurumurthy is married and has two children. Sharada who is also married has an 8-year-old daughter. They were in love and on September 26 had checked into Hotel Hariprasad in Kundapur. They claimed to be husband and wife and provided ID proof and stayed in a room. On Sunday, the room boy found the couple lying dead in the room.
Police were informed and their ID proof was seized. It came to light that on September 27, a missing complaint was filed by family of Sharada. After confirming about the complaint from Shringeri police, Kundapur police informed both the families. The couple ended life by consuming poison. The bodies have been sent for post mortem.
