Mangaluru: Minister for women and child development Jayamala has assured to pay additional Rs 10 lac for the development of academies in the district.
"Earlier we were providing Rs 1 crore for the academies. This time we have decided to pay additional Rs 10 lac. These academies are doing tremendous work and still lot more has to be done. It would be challenging to do a survey on the good work done by the academies. The coalition government has given me opportunity and I thank all the senior leaders. I have deep concern towards women and children and am eager to do good work for my department and bring positive changes,” she said.
Responding to a query on the efforts for the inclusion of Tulu language in 8th schedule, Jayamala said, "I am committed to this cause. Our department has taken up several works on the inclusion of Tulu language in 8th schedule. We will work more in this regard,”
“We lack funds for the construction of separate building for Beary and Konkani Academies. I will definitely work to make the dream a reality,” she assured.
