Mumbai-based hotelier dies after getting knocked down by train

Udupi: In a tragic incident, Rajanikanth Rai (48), a Mumbai-based hotelier, lost his life in an accident which happened at Jogeshwari, Mumbai in the early hours of Friday.

Rajanikanth was a native of Adve Tenkumane in Nandikoor near Padubidri. He had got down from a train at Jogedshwari railway station and was walking away when he was knocked down by another train. He died on the spot.

The deceased has running the hotel since the last 24 years. He is survived by mother, wife, and a daughter. Rai was actively involved with religious, academic and social service sectors.
