NMAM hosts five day seminar on 'Machine Learning'

Karkala: Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte has organized a five day workshop on 'Machine Learning & its applications in Engineering & Technology' from January 2 to 6.

The workshop was funded by ISRO, Bengaluru and technically co-sponsored by IEEE Mangalore subsection.

The workshop aims at bringing awareness amongst the teaching faculties on ‘Machine Learning & its applications’.

The inaugural function of the workshop was held on January 2. Dr U C Niranjan, director, Research & Training, Manipal Dot Net Pvt Ltd, Manipal was the chief guest at the function. He highlighted the need for in depth learning in engineering industry in the current scenario.

The principal of the institute, Dr Niranjan N Chiplunkar, in his presidential remarks explained that the concept of Machine Learning is not new but awareness about the same has begun.

Dr Rekha Bhandarkar, HOD and convener of the workshop welcomed the gathering. Subramanya Bhat, organising secretary of the workshop introduced the chief guest to the audience.

Pradyumna GR, joint organising secretary rendered the vote of thanks. Shankari and Ashwini presented the invocation Vaishali S Suvarna compered the programme.
