Published On : 06 Sep 2018

Udupi: On behalf of Shiroor Math, Sode Math, and Ranjan Kalkura, tiger dance (Huli Vesha) contest had been organized on the occasion of Vittal Pindi. However, the police obstructed this programme.

Expressing strong resentment about the development, Ranjan Kalkura said, "When only about five minutes programme was left, the police suddenly intercepted the programme and behaved inhumanly. As per the instructions of the police, we had made all arrangements to conclude the programme at 10 pm. It was 10.05 pm when the police obstructed the programme. They not even allowed us to continue for five more minutes. They forced the microphones to be shut down and chairs to be removed. This hurt sentiments of thousands of devotees who had come to witness the programme."

Police met with displeasure in social media.
