Mangaluru: City police have taken precautions, so that no unpleasant developments occur on the occasion of Valentine’s Day.
City police commissioner M Chandra Shekar and district SP Dr Sharanappa S D have taken steps to ensure peace in their respective jurisdictions. Security and patrol have been beefed up in public places, beaches, parks and other places where people gather to spend time.
Since the Valentine’s Day has fallen on a Sunday this year, there could be larger gatherings, hence the police have taken no chance.
Citizen Forum for Mangaluru Development submitted a memorandum to the city police commissioner cautioning that Bajrang Dal was likely to create disturbances and therefore appropriate action be taken against the outfit.
