Mangalur: It is alleged that few among those who planned the murder of veteran journalist, Gauri Lankesh, for her alleged anti-Hindu stand, were also planning to murder rationalist and anti-superstition crusader from Mangaluru, Prof Narendra Nayak. Local CCTV camera has captured a scene in which an unidentified person can be seen loitering near the residence of Nayak twice. The special investigation team (SIT) officials probing Gauri Lankesh murder have collected this footage and are continuing with their probe.
During the interrogation of Suresh from Kunigal, who was recently arrested, the SIT came to know that he was holding the pistol used to kill Gauri Lankesh for nearly three weeks. The third additional chief metropolitan magistrate court at Bengaluru had handed Suresh to eight days of SIT custody although he had earlier claimed that he was tortured by officials during the interrogation.
