Mangaluru: A rainwater harvesting centre is slated to come up at Dr. Shivaram Karanth Pilikula Nisargadhama.
Proposed on one-acre land would have educative models of rainwater harvesting methods such as roof water harvesting, borewell recharging, and percolation pits. It would provide information on traditional rainwater harvesting structures like ‘madakas’.
The centre would also organise workshops to create awareness on rainwater harvesting. He said that the centre would come up under the guidance of Shree Padre, a environmental activist.
