Kundapur: A rally was held by Hindu Hitharakshana Vedike in Byndoor town in protest against Ramanath Rai on Tuesday. Speaking on occasion, state BJP executive member B M Sukumar said that instead of Prabhakar Bhat, Ramantah Rai should be arrested.
"Ramanath Rai’s remarks on prominent Hindu leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat is unfortunate. Giving a call to arrest a man by pressurising the police department is condemnable. If at all any attempt is made to arrest Prabhakar Bhat, the entire Dakshina Kannada will burn," said B M Sukumar.
"Ramanath Rai has criminal background. He should be arrested first. He should not sit within the walls and misuse power by criticizing Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat. He should apologize for his recent remarks,” said Sadananda Uppinakudru addressing the protestors.
An effigy of Ramanath Rai was garlanded with chappals and later burnt by the protestors.
