Mangaluru: On the occasion of International Women's Day on March 8, sanitary napkin vending machines were installed at the international airport. There had been demand for such a facility since long.
In the past, several women passengers had tweeted about the need for such a facility, and attracted attention of airport officials. During January this year, the airport officials had assured through the Twitter account of the airport to provide such a facility soon.
On March 8, such a machine was installed in the washrooms of ladies at the airport. These machines have been provided in the arrival and departure terminals of the airport, which will also help women staff of the airport.
