Mangaluru: In a shocking incident, the spectators gallery collapsed at the inaugural day matches of the three-day beach Pro-Kabaddi tournament, which was underway at Panambur on April 15, Friday.
As many as 30 people sustained injuries when the incident occured. The event organised by the Karnataka Amateur Kabaddi Association was earlier inaugurated by State Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Abhaychandra Jain.
Over 3000 people were present at the venue to watch the flood-lit match. The ninth match of the day was underway when the mishap occurred.
The injured were admitted to different hospitals and the matches were suspended. Organisers said the tournament will continue on April 16.
