Student gets dragged by high waves

Mangaluru: In a tragic incident, Sudharaj (18), a student from Beltangady, who was swimming in the Panambur beach in the city got disappeared after he was dragged into the sea by high waves.

Sudharaj, who was studying in second year degree in Melanthabettu government degree college in Beltangady had come to the Panambur beach in the city on Saturda along with his friends to spend the weekend. They were playing the game of Kabaddi by the beach side and did not pay heed to the warnings given by the beach guards not to venture into the sea. Though the beach protection personnel try to save Sudharaj as he was getting drowned, he could not be saved as the waves were very turbulent.

Sudharaj was the last among the three children of agriculturist Keshava Poojary and Baby couple, residents of Kaje, Nyayatarpu village in Beltangady taluk. Panambur police visited the spot and conducted the verification and registered a case in this regard.
