Fr. Eric A. Rodrigues, Chaplain, The Serra Club of Bangalore, pointed out in his homily, “Our Religious Sisters are the real heroes, working tirelessly in difficult conditions in missionary work, in hospitals, in schools”.

Feeling that in these difficult times, there is a need for prayer, the Serrans organised an intercession and adoration service on 4th April, 2016, at Seva Nilaya, Davis Road, Bangalore, and invited Religious Sisters from 17 Congregations that have their Convents in and around that area.

About 35 Sisters attended the Service, and in the calm, peaceful atmosphere of Seva Nilaya, we bowed our heads in adoration and lifted our prayers for the Religious Sisters present and also for all Sisters in India and all over the world. Prayers were offered for strength and courage, for faithfulness, and for the Lord to be with us when we are fearful. We offered up prayers for the 4 nuns killed in Yemen, and prayed for justice.. We prayed for those Religious Sisters called to be Principal of our schools.

The Sisters offered grateful thanks to God for all He has done for them.

The Service was followed by a fellowship meeting, and Serrans welcomed each Religious Sister with a rose. The Sisters appreciated the games with thoughtful prizes and the snacks prepared by the Serrans. The Sisters shared how validated they felt by Fr. Eric acknowledging their contribution.

The Serrans shared how important a role the Religious Sisters have played in their lives.

One Sister said in her thank you speech, “we thank God for all the everyday miracles and for the extraordinary miracles like this evening”.
