Belthangady: Thieves made a vain attempt to burgle the Padmunje branch of Canara Bank on the night of August 15, Monday. The incident came to light only the next morning.
The thieves had managed to cut the window rods to enter the cabin, but could not enter the strong room of the bank. However, the clever thieves have made good their way with the DVR Box which has the CCTV footages and have even snapped the wires connecting the alarm.
Uppinangady and Puttur police are conducting the investigations.
