Udupi: Two groups fought over the management of the Palligudde Juma Masjid at Katpadi on Wednesday. The two groups initially argued over the matter. After the heated arguments, it is said that the two sides came to blows.
The members of the two warring gangs used chairs to hit one another. One among them also tried to intimidate the others by firing from his revolver. Some members of both the groups got admitted into hospital. More details are awaited.
The police, who confirmed that such an incident had indeed happened, added that a formal case is yet to be registered.
