Published On : 10 Dec 2017

Mangaluru: United Muslim Organisation, Dakshina Kannada, has declared that it would neither support nor participate in the 'Walk for Harmony' by Congress scheduled to be held from Farangipet to Mani on December 12.

United Muslim Organization DK president and former mayor K Ashraf said, "There have been frequent attacks on Muslims across Dakshina Kannada district, but neither the district administration, the government nor the two ministers from this district have been been able to provide justice to them. They have failed to solve the problems and issues facing the minorities in the district."

"The police have disrespected holy book Quran during a raid on an accused in the Sharath Madivala murder case and no action has been taken in the case so far. With this, we have come to know, how district adminstration is treating Muslims. To protest against this treatment, we are not supporting the rally," he added.
