Mangaluru: Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrangdal staged a protest in front of the office of the North Zone Block Education Officers’ office on Thursday demanding the withdrawal of the lesson on Islam and Christianity in the Social Studies text book of ninth standard.
Addressing the protesters, Sharan Pumpwell, Bajrangdal leader demanded that the lesson must be dropped and new text books provided to students. Durga Vahini leader Asha Jagadish, Bajrangdal leaders Pramod Pumpwell, Shivananda Mendon and others were present.
Sharan warned that the protests will be more intensified if no action is taken by concerned department.
