Wife and paramour convicted for husband’s murder

Mangaluru: The First Additional District and Sessions Court has convicted a woman and her paramour in the case of the murder of the former’s husband on April 19, 2014 at Kalanje. Rudresh (32) was serving as a forestor in Kalanja. It was said he had illicit relationship with Amita alias Devaki (42), wife of the victim Annayya Gowda.

Both had hacked Annayya with an iron road following which Amitha had lodged a complaint with Uppinangady Police claiming that three masked men who had entered the house by breaking the back doors had murdered her husband.

However, police investigation revealed that she had lied. Police then took her to custody for interrogation when the truth came to light that they had eliminated Annayya who was a hindrance to their affair.
