Mangaluru: Seven unidentified people allegedly tried to gang rape a woman at Bengre beach last week. The woman from Bantwal visited Bengre beach with a youth last week. A group of seven men approached the couple, thrashed the youth and tried to gang rape the woman.
Hearing the woman screaming for help, locals gathered. The group of seven then fled away. Police have already started investigation and launched a manhunt for the culprits.
Six suspects have been already taken by the police into custody for questioning.
