Puttur: A young man who approached an elderly man at Potladka in Kaukradyseeking mango leaves and areca inflorescence for pooja purpose,has escaped with cash and valuables from the house after fooling the house owner.
When the youth approached Elyanna Gowda (70) seeking mango leaves and areca inflorescence Elyanma locked the house, kept the key in the window sill and went into his farm. However, by the time he returned, the door of the house was wide open and the stranger youth escaped without waiting to collect the leaves and areca inforescnce.
Valuables and cash of Rs 50,000 was found stolen by breaking open the cupboard. Uppinangady Police are investigating the case.
