MLA JR Lobo reveals of forming committee for smart city

Mangaluru: MLA JR Lobo said revealed that a committee will be formed as Mangaluru was recently piked as smart city by union government. The committee will be formed by the end of September 30.

Addressing press at Congress office, he said that committee with 17 directors will be formed in which 7 representatives from Mangaluru City Corporation, 7 representatives from State government and one representative from Union government will be part of this committee.

"Nearly 1,000 crores will be sanctioned for the smart city project in which Union and State government will contribute equal funds. During its first year both Union and State government will sanction Rs. 200 crores each, in second year and third year Rs. 150 crores will be sanctioned in the process," he added.

He owed gratitude to State government and Union Government for picking Mangaluru to be a Smart city.
