Mangaluru: A peacock died after it was hit by an unidentified vehicle at Ekkur on September 23, Friday afternoon.
The peacock was flying across the road at a low level when it was knocked down by a speeding vehicle. The traffic police on duty in the area had immediately informed the Pilikula Nisargadhama.
However the officials there asked them to inform the Forest Department. The peacock had died by the time the Forest Department personnel arrived at around 3 pm.
