Udupi: The cent percent administration has been provided by the Udupi City Municipal administration and secured name for one of the best Administrative City Municipality, said D. Manjunathaiah, Commissioner of Udupi City Municipality.
He replied in response to opposition leader in the CMC, Dr. M. R. Pai that as per as the audit of the Udupi Municipality statement of accounts, the report is irresponsible. There should be separate meeting to pass the accounts and should be discussed in depth, Dinakar Shetty Herga, councilor. There was uproar over the opposition remarks about the financial statement of the municipality. The official gave clear picture of the accounts and said that there was financial audit, statutory audit and A. J. audit held. All payments have been made quarterly but not in any mode. M. R. Pai said that there should not be any balance payment to the government. In reply to officials, he said that no amount was pending to the government and all payments to the government were clearly settled.
The Commissioner said that all audited accounts will be available in the municipal website.
In reply to Chandrakanth Naik, Councilor on shifting of weekly market at Santhekatte, Kallianpur, Commissioner said that the land is already reserved for the purpose. We are waiting for the order from the Deputy Commissioner, Udupi district and will proceed to make arrangements for the weekly market shifting to other place.
The new fish market at Udupi will be opened within a month said officials in reply to the question from Shamprasad Kudwa, councilor. There is no need to repair existing temporary fish market at Beedinagudde.
There were other issues like parking at City Bus stand near Raj Tower, drainage system at Malpe, repairing damaged roads etc.
Meenakshi Madhav Bannanje presided the meeting. D. Manjunathaiah Commissioner, Sandhya Tilak, Vice President and others were present during the monthly meeting.
